Taco Vida has been a neighborhood favorite for tacos of all types, particularly their carne asada, ahi tuna, and beer-battered tilapia, in addition to a featured taco of the week. Several other upscale eateries can be found throughout the neighborhood, like Bobby’s. High-end creations from the land, air, and sea include spicy calamari, steaks, and a juicy Mediterranean-style chicken. 
 
The Summer Sampler Concert Series is one of the locals’ favorite ways to wind down on Sunday evenings. At no charge to the public, both residents and visitors alike flock to Floral Park with picnic dinners and blankets to enjoy some of the most talented musicians in the Midwest. The Deerfield Harvest Fest ushers in cooler temperatures with an extensive farmers’ market, a free concert, food, a beer tent, and one of the largest fireworks displays anywhere around. 
 
Throughout the summer and autumn, the Deerfield Farmers’ Market on Park Avenue is a gathering spot for residents to shop for locally grown produce, flowers, prepared deli items, farm-fresh eggs, to-go breakfasts, and more. The other six days of the year, a centrally located Whole Foods in the heart of Deerfield offers convenient shopping for pantry staples, artisan specialties, and a plentiful wine selection.
 

Things To Do

 
Dense, green treetops protect this community along Chicago’s North Shore, providing a perfect climate for fun in the great outdoors. Lake Potawatomi and Potawatomi Woods are magnificent places for enjoying the vivid, warm display of fall foliage. Lake Potawatomi is about four acres in size and nine feet deep at its deepest point, while Potawatomi Woods spans across 300 acres, making it the second-largest forest in the county. The Prairie Wolf Forest Preserve is another highly enjoyed spot for hiking, biking, nature watching, and off-leash fun with four-legged friends. Warm, summer days under the sun are spent at Hidden Creek Aquapark, the Park District’s outdoor crown gem. Water slides, kiddy playgrounds, lounge chairs, and swimming pools provide fun for family and friends of all ages.

  • Lincolnshire-Prairieview School District 103, prekindergarten-8th grade; several schools in the district are the winners of Blue Ribbon School awards, Golden Apple awards, and many other distinguishments
  • Deerfield High School, grades 9-12; DHS is a Blue Ribbon School, boasts a high average ACT test score, and is a winner of several state athletic titles
